DHOW ITINERARY:
These names may mean nothing to you now but we have chosen them carefully to give you what we consider a blend of exquisite tropical islands and a glimpse of the wonderful people and way of life in this part of Madagascar.

Note. This is an itinerary guideline which may be varied by the captain depending on weather conditions.

SEVEN NIGHT DHOW CAMPING TRIP

The next morning you will be collected from the hotel you stayed at and transferred to Antananarivo Airport for your flight to Nosy Be.

On arrival in Nosy Be we meet you and transfer you to Hell-vile harbour where you will board and set sail with us on our dhow, Salama Djema, for the following 6 nights of island hopping and camping on the islands. The crew prepares meals, set up camp every afternoon and takes it down the following morning.

DHOW INFORMATION:
When you are on board the Dhow, all meals and accommodation will be included in the price as well as the boat transport and fuel.
All your meals are prepared by the crew and will consist mostly of seafood - calamari, crab, line fish, prawns, rice, potatoes, salads, pasta vegetables & fruit. Please advise us if anyone in your group has specific catering requirements and we will do our best to meet these requirements.
Tea and coffee will be served regularly and 1 litre of bottled water will be provided each day per person.
Additional drinks can be purchased on board from the cash bar (e.g. sodas, beers and further alcohol)

All the accommodation on the Dhow trip is basic camping.
When you arrive at the above mentioned islands, your crew will then set up camp for you on the beach (tents, shower, toilet etc).
The islands we camp on will be basic with little or no facilities (there will not be a flushing toilet – we provide you with a chair with a hole in it and a spade and a real bush experience). The crew will also set up a mobile shower tent with fresh water to wash off under.

It is important to note that the islands you will be staying on are almost uninhabited and very remote islands.
This trip will be a real beach and bush experience but one that we are sure you will really enjoy.

Please let us know the breakdown of your group for accommodation purposes. I.e. age, couples, singles etc and any dietary or other requirements. If we don't receive specific requests, all rooms and tents are for 2 people.

Please Note: One is required to sign a basic indemnity form before the trip starts in Nosy Be. You are visiting a MALARIA AREA and we suggest you ask your GP what they recommend in this regard.

MALARIA
Madagascar is a Malaria and Cholera area and we have heard about reported cases. We therefore urge all clients to contact a Travel clinic and to ensure that you do take Malaria pre-cautions

CYCLONES
Generally speaking this would only occur during January, February and March months – therefore we do not run any trips during these months.
We do however warn clients that December may already start experiencing heavy rains although very hot and humid.
Please bear in mind that cyclones can also occur out of the above months – this is very un-predictable.
