A river cruise between Moscow and St Petersburg is a relaxing way to see Russia's two main cities, as well as some fascinating towns and villages in between. Both cities are explored in depth and on a typical trip with two full days to explore Moscow, and three for St Petersburg. There is a full programme of excursions throughout. The journey between the two mighty cities takes in some of Russia's historic so-called 'Golden Ring' towns - many of which pre-date Moscow and St Petersburg. You'll also stop off at a number of villages on the journey, giving you a taste of life in Russia away from the hustle and bustle of the two primary cities.
Itinerary

Day 1 ~ Moscow arrival
Fly to Moscow. Private transfer to the Ms Dostoyevsky with the evening at leisure to enjoy your first night aboard the ship.

Day 2 ~ Moscow
Begin your exploration of Russia’s magnificent capital this afternoon with a tour which includes Red Square, St Basils Cathedral, the Sparrow Hills and the Moscow Metro. Visit New Maiden Convent

Day 3 ~ Moscow departure 17:30 hrs
Tour of the Kremlin visiting its main churches and cathedrals as well the Armoury museum, home to the famous Faberge Eggs. Spend the afternoon at leisure.

Day 4 ~ Uglich
Arrive in the historic merchant town of Uglich today where you take an excursion to some of the town’s most beautiful churches and cathedrals.

Day 5 ~ Jaroslavl
Arrival in Jaroslavl with a City Tour which includes the Spaso Preobrazgenskiy Monastery, Church of Ilja the Prophet.

Day 6 ~ Goritsy
You spend some time exploring the rural settlement of Goritsy today with an excursion to the Monastery of St Cyril and its icon museum.

Day 7 ~ Kizhi
Visit Kizhi Island today, home to some of Russia’s most spectacular wooden architecture including the fairytale Church of the Intersession.

Day 8 ~ Mandrogi
Visit the small Russian village of Mandrogui today where you spend some time at leisure exploring the settlement and perhaps visiting the local vodka museum.

Day 9 ~ St. Petersburg arrival 08:00 hrs
City tour. Visit to Peter & Paul Fortress.

Day 10 ~ St. Petersburg
Sightseeing excursion to the Hermitage.

Day 11 ~ St. Petersburg
Optional tours available for your enjoyment

Day 12 ~ St. Petersburg Disembark
Disembark this morning with transfer to the airport or other destination.
