In 1978 the Company's founder, Jan Watkinson, emigrated from New Zealand to South Africa's Western Cape. In 1980 Jan founded Westwood Travel, a leading retail travel agency located in the Cape Winelands city of Somerset West.

As one of South Africa’s leading travel organisers we are specialists in arranging exceptional holiday and business travel arrangements. In today's age of mass tourism, the specialist travel agent is a rare treasure. We believe that specialization is our greatest strength.

Our associate company, Far East Tours was born with Jan and her colleagues leading small group tours to China and other Asian destinations. Within a couple of years the company was offering tailor-made holidays to China and the Far East, Russia and the Indian subcontinent. Over the past few years Far East Tours has grown steadily through word of mouth as many of our travellers have returned to us for another trip, and recommended us to friends.

Today, as we expand beyond Asia and into South America and other world-wide destinations, (through our ICAN-Holidays division) the fundamental pillars upon which we began remain as important today as ever with expert first hand knowledge, attention to detail, personal service and value for money being paramount.
